Last weekend I had a wonderful time being able to help my mother in law, Sonia, with a baby shower she was throwing for her cousin, Kat. So really, Kat is my second cousin in law…… but to avoid any confusion I am just going to call her my cousin Kat, LOL!
You know the people in life who talk to you and make you feel like your the most important person in the world? Like everything you say is extremely interesting (even when it’s not)? That is who Kat is. Seriously! Hands down she is the sweetest woman I know.
After having 2 boys and this being somewhat of a “surprise” (but very wanted pregnancy) she found out she was having a girl! This was her heart’s desire and we were all rejoicing with her!
Since this was such a special pregnancy, Sonia and I wanted to give Kat something sweet and dainty- so we decided on a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Baby Shower…perfect for a little girl.
(I completely forgot my good camera at home and tried my best to capture some good pictures on my iphone)
The color scheme we went with were pinks, creams, and pop’s of gold…along with some rustic touches because you can’t go wrong there. I am literally obsessed with this crate and use it for almost every party I have. It just goes with everything. I found it at a antique shop while we were visiting Alex’s extended family in Illinois and it was the best $8 I have ever spent.
Our family recently discovered this amazing cake lady in our area within the last year. She is incredible and the best part is she makes amazing gluten free cakes (you would NEVER be able to tell the difference). This works out great since some of our family members are gluten free! I loved the added star toppers on this cake.
The clouds were BY FAR my favorite decor item of the party. I DIY’d these for a previous project and they were just perfect for this theme. I had myself on a small ladder on top of that pool table to hang these bad boys up there, but every second was worth it after I saw the outcome.
I have to give my mother in law credit since she was holding Chase the whole time keeping him happy since he wouldn’t lay down for us. You mommy’s know what that’s like, right?
Kat decided on the name Lily for her sweet girl, isn’t that the cutest? I can’t wait to meet her!
